Jeju Island 3-Day Travel Itinerary – Day 1: Slower Moments, Scenic Trails, and Soulful Food

Rainy skies and coastal winds — here’s how I spent a meaningful first day in Jeju, savoring local flavors and tranquil walks.

For this Jeju trip, I did things differently.

Instead of rushing from spot to spot with a packed checklist, I embraced a slower, more intentional pace — walking, breathing, and tasting my way across the island. With cloudy skies and cool ocean breezes, Day 1 became the perfect mix of comfort food, soft sea trails, and hidden cafes. Whether you’re planning an off-season visit or simply want to see Jeju in a more relaxed light, this itinerary is for you.

Day 1 Jeju Island Day Highlights: Comfort Meets Coastal Calm

🍜 Olle Guksu (올래국수)

📍 24, Guiarang-gil, Jeju-si

I kicked off my trip with a local favorite — Olle Guksu, a comforting bowl of rich pork broth and chewy noodles. It's simple, hearty, and the kind of meal that hits just right after a flight.

📍 Olleh Trail (Coastal Nuri 50 Course)

📍 2318-2, Sinchon-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si

This trail was a peaceful escape. With crashing waves to one side and volcanic stone walls on the other, it’s the perfect route to clear your mind and reconnect with nature — even on a cloudy day.

📍 Gimnyeong Beach Road (김녕 바닷길)

📍 51-3, Gimnyeong-ro 1-gil, Gujwa-eup (where you can park)

Not your typical beach day, but the gray tones and quiet shoreline made this walk incredibly meditative. No crowds, just waves and wind.

🦪 Myungjin Abalone (명진전복)

📍 1282, Haemajihaean-ro, Gujwa-eup

Dinner was at Myungjin Jeonbok, one of Jeju’s most well-known abalone restaurants. From grilled to porridge, the flavors were rich, ocean-fresh, and totally satisfying. This spot is perfect for rainy days — warm lighting, attentive service, and a deep taste of Jeju’s seafood heritage.

🍵 Starbucks Jeju Seongsan DT (스타벅스 제주성산D점)

📍 80, Ilchul-ro, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si

To end the day, I grabbed a drink at one of Jeju’s scenic drive-thru Starbucks locations. A cozy window seat and a hot Americano made for a perfectly quiet close to a full, slow day.
